So Tyson Fury's dad has openly criticised his son and his team for their recent actions...interesting

This guy doesn't understand contracts and arbitration, apparently. It would be different were there no rematch clause, but there is.

He's right. Tyson team are to blame. Tyson seemed happy to go along with it though rather than force his side to pay the step aside money.

Big John Fury should have led the arbitration case against Wilder's legal team.
The only problem is, he's not allowed into America because he's a criminal.
But his knowledge of contract law under the U.S. system is second to none.

Well Arums a lawyer and according to him the abitration "wouldn't be an issue" , "the contract had expired" and "Wilder has no leg to stand on legally".

    Arum was wrong.

In every legal dispute case, (with few exceptions) one side is wrong.
    One side wins.
    One side loses.

    That's how it works, see.

I never saw a group of people so bent out of shape because they couldn't break a contract.

At fault how though ? They lost the arbitration ruling. Fury has to face Wilder again. What more is there to say ?

"They should have won" .... is that what we're going to say now ?
They made their case, but the judge makes the ruling. And that's how it works. It is what it is.

What's the whole "the rematch clause could have been cancelled in December" about? Anyone know more about this loophole in the contract and why they didn't exercise it?

Because they could have just got it over with and if they did we'd be preparing for Fury vs Aj at the moment. In addition to that his team kept blabbing in about the rematch clause expiring and never reached out to the saudis or even Hearn for step aside money to give to Wilder. You're telling me it took Fury's team 6 months to finally attempt to sign the contract ? And announce it right before the arbitration ruling ? Nah in my honest opinion i feel like mid negotiations they realized Fury would be 18 months out the ring but didn't want to ask for a tune a because it would make Fury look like he was ducking, so they let hearns team on and then waited until the judges decision to announce the "fight" this way Fury gets a "tune up" instead of jumping into the biggest fight of his Career with an 18 month layoff

Sounds very odd if you ask me
