    It looks new to me.

John Fury is just saying what everyone else is thinking.
These promoters don't seem to be able to secure a date and venue for Fury-Joshua.
And clearly the Joshua/Hearn side can afford to wait it out longer than Fury who's already been out the ring for over 13 months now.
Tyson Fury needs to fight this summer. Hopefully against AJ but who knows.

    He's not wrong.

If they don't secure a venue and date then its been a total waste of time and energy

Hearn will find some old stiff for AJ to knockover in summer fairly easily whilst Fury who fights out of the US has a lot more leg work to do with his overly large management and Bob Arum messing around.

I have a feeling this has something to do with Furys current contract.

He signed a 5 fight deal.back in Feb 2019 for a reported £80 million quid.

He's had 3 of those fights already. I'm figuring he's realising now he's under sold himself, as one fight against AJ is probably worth more than 80 million to him.

Neither Fury or his dad really seem very enthusiastic at the prospect of the AJ fight. They probably prefer to take 2 easier fights to fulfill that 5 fight deal and then they'll be free to negotiate a bigger slice of the cake for an AJ fight.

Obviously whoever put up the £80 million for Furys 5 fight deal will want their monies worth and want him in the ring next against AJ.

Has to be something along those lines. Reallly negative noises coming from the Furys regarding the fight.

    As if they're hoping a venue/date doesn't get sorted.

Either that or Fury really just doesn't fancy it at all

Fury earns more money on the side on top of his ESPN deal...both walking away with almost double their highest payday to date, as long as they aren't getting stiffed that's all that matters.

    Gave them Whyte for beatup.
A.J with rematch clause in eddie souce and for Fury too with clause.
ASAP and beatup will be done.
Then they might fight with Pulev. Cool KOs warranted.

It's really hard for us to know the intricacies of these contracts.

But what I posted seems the only logical kind of explanation as to why the lack of enthusiasm from the Furys.

If someone has already agreed to pay him £80 mill for 5 fights, I can't see him being paid the full whack on top of that for the AJ fight.

I reckon it may have been a case of Fury thinking a bird in the hand is better than 2 in a bush when he took that deal.

Remember Fury had never had any really big pay days up till that point. He didn't know how things would pan out at that point with him beating Wilder in the a rematch and then there being this huge money available for the AJ fights.

I bet if they do fight next , even though the split between the 2 camps is 50/50 I'd bet AJ will come away with a lot more money bimself from it than Fury will.

Very murky world boxing business that's why it's so hard getting these big fights done.

BT last night during the boxing, it seems clear that Fury will take a warm up. I think it's wise too given how inactive he has been and the general societal circumstances ongoing

Sounds like they are trying to get out of AJ fight. If it does not happen this Summer it will never happen.

No I don’t agree. The $80 Million will be a guarantee so the AJ fight after the Wilder 2 fight will push the money over the top. Remember Floyd signed a deal with Showtime for $300 Million and made well over $800 Million. Not having the fight does not make economic sense for everyone including the TV companies.

As I've said i genuinely think Fury wants a warm up fight. The way Fury and his dad being so negative about it and saying they're going to fight with or without Aj. You even have John Fury casting concern on Tysons inactivity. Realistically i dont believe Fury is "scared" of Aj, but he knows Ajs style by means of coming forward and his combination punching will pose a major threat to him, far more of a threat than Wladimir Klitschko and Deontay Wilder stylistically. Tyson Fury may try and play it off but he knows deep down Joshua is going to be his hardest fight.

I think Fury should take a warm up against chisora or Wallin or something. and Aj should just fight Usyk. I really want this fight to happen in the summer but im not sure if Fury's going to do it due to his layoff. I also want Fury at his best

Ngannou had had something like 7 seconds of fight time since June 2019 before last night. He produced by far his best performance nonetheless. This against someone who had well beaten him earlier. I don't think Fury's inactivity should be a big concern if they get the fight done this summer. And I don't see why they shouldn't.

If he wanted a warm up fight he could have done that in November/ December last year.

He was trying to get a fight in December, not sure why it didn't happen. Fury and AJ should fight each other in their next fight. It would be a tragedy for boxing if they don't fight each other whilst in their primes.
