Who wins this battle of the welterweight Brits?

Both won the title as considerable underdogs and were two of Britain's best ever fighters.
I'm still making my mind up. Could have gone either way.

Two of my favourite ever fighters think Lloyd would have won but only after a terrific scrap

Would certainly have been a war,Noel! I'm inclined to go with Lloyd winning but only if he displays the form he was in for the Curry fight. He seemed to slip after that. Any less then John H would be my pick.

Vald argument Stevie but regardless of who would have won lets not forget both these fighters became world champions away from home in two huge upsets.

Can imagine this been a blaster. If both come in at their best, then I've got Honeyghan winning, maybe after being rocked himself.

What a war this would be…no backward steps. I’ll go for Stracy, but tomorrow I might go for Honeyghan! It’s a 50/50 fight for me

Would have been Fight of the Year in many boxing mags.

I feel Honeyghan's aggressive style would give him the stylistic edge here, Stracey got beat up by Dave Boy Green who was pressure fighter. And Stracey also had no real answer for Palomino, although to be fair Palomino had cast iron chin.

But overall I see Honeyghan winning by late stoppage.

Palomino was also a very good boxer/puncher who was only one level down from greatness in my opinion.

Yeah I agree Palomino is definitely one of the most under appreciated Welterweight champions, and Stracey severely under estimated Palomino. Who I believe was seen as an easy fight for Stracey prior to the fight boy how wrong they were.
