Recently my very elderly (80s+) mother (who has been a model citizen all her life) spent 2 nights at deaths door - on a trolley in a freezing, super-bug riddled, hospital corridor, surrounded by drunks and probably a few other yahoos with self-inflicted problems as a result of our Angola-style "health-service". (You'll be glad to hear she pulled through).
Now re-distributing funds from feuding travellers to provide an improved hospital service experience to people like my mother would be my idea of a "positive social effect".


Actually Im a big leftie softee myself - any money saved from the feuders - I would redistribute to others more deserving.

do you know even in the boom when their was loads of money in our healthcare system it was still absoulute rubbish. Id to wait 6 hours in a and e to get my eyebrow stitched up before and that was during the boom.

Obviously theres better places these funds could be going but its only going to make the problem a lot worse. But the net effect of doing this would be a huge rise in the crime rate and also as you said a lot more arrests and jail sentences which would cost a lot of money.

In a well-run country under proper management money isnt squandered by throwing it away on lost causes. Thats the crux of it.

Mine was'nt so lucky , In her 70's she fell and broke her hip , lay in the SUPER BUG RIDDLED HOSPITAL , she caught a bug , next came the infection , then death , . that was five years ago , 2 years ago , my old man goes in to have his big toe removed , (diabetes related ) , anyway , off comes the toe , in comes the infection , 6 weeks of agony with his organs slowly shutting down one by one , , After 6 weeks came the death he was praying for .

Both , hard working people who worked and payed taxes for all there life , both dead , because they hav'nt got the money to build clean hospitals , or pay staff to do a DECENT JOB cleaning the places up .

When you look at things threw them eyes , its not just the travellers they should come down hard on , its a BIG % of the dole bludging , gimee , gimee scumbags , and lazy twats all over Britain .

 

In all fairness money wont fix the hospital system ireland, even in the boom where they were throwing money into the health service at a ridiculous rate it was still crap.

The health service and how its ran should be overhauled from top to bottom
