    Haye KO 1.

Easy blowout, bet John fought like one of them pikey bare knuckle fighters.......never mind Haye, Bobby Crabtree may well have done John L in a round

It is quite tiresome to have to educate you about basic facts and dates, so that you can continue to argue with me about something you have made up your mind about, regardless of the evidence.

The firsts picture you posted was taken in 1898, the better part of a decade after the Corbett fight. Using that picture to judge his condition would be like using a picture of Lennox Lewis stripped to the waist today, to asses his condition in his prime. I don't have a weight for Sullivan on the date this picture was taken, but I know that he weighed in at over 270lbs for exhibitions a few years later.

The picture you have posted above was taken in 1883, but I don't know when. In this year Sullivan came in at 202lbs against Mitchell, 205lbs against Slade, and fought exhibitions that year at 222lbs, 224lbs, 225lb, and 226lbs. It is not clear when exactly his drinking got out of hand, but it appears based on absence of evidence to have been a few years after this.

The tale of the tape data prety much puts the tin lid on the argument. Sullivan is significantly bigger than Joe Frazier in chest, neck, biceps and wrists, while being as tall. In fact he compares quite well to Sonny Liston in these key dimensions. Can you find any example of a light heavyweight who could match these measurments?

This seems to be about the quality of argument that I am up against here!

Is this some type of sick joke? The Hayemaker steam rolls this old fart inside two rounds.

The whole point of a fantasy fight is that you can pick each fighter at whatever age you want.

It is hard therfore to see why Sullivan's age should be an issue.

And this of course would not be the last time a moustache decided a fight of old Boston Tom. Read the classic story by H.L. Mencken "The Kid, The Negro, and The Mustache." Puts the tale of his most controversial victory to rest.
