Let's say Over 20 Rounds - Marquis of Queensberry Rules

Two tough guy's who didnt really care for chasing down fleet footed Fancy-Dans, but much preferred toe-to-toe trading, Sullivan was a renown Tough Guy, but Galento was no Cream Puff when it came to Rough-Housing as Lou Nova could certainly attest, Sullivan apparently was Prone to issue challenges "I can lick any SOB in the place.." But what if it was issued in Tony Galento's Place .... I'm sure the challenge would of been accepted...
The Boston Strong Boy or Tough Two Ton Tony...??

Hard to say. Nobody alive ever saw Sullivan fight and there are no films of his bouts.

Going off what I've read, John L. was fearsome. He was lighter than Tony but apparently was pretty explosive and quick, with two-fisted power.
For me the length pf the contest is immaterial, as in my opinion Sullivan gets Galento out of there, maybe in a hurry.

Based on record and contemporary accounts, I take a prime Sullivan to beat the best version of Galento… and beat him rather badly. Sullivan was an active, two-fisted fighter who was lightning quick. Galento was a beer barrel with a hook who spent every second of his fights trying to line-up the same punch.

At least there are films of Galento fighting so we know what he brings to the table.

hard to say Tony G was a rough guy with gloves and beat a lot of the murder row black fighter like Lorenzo Pack and others John L. was the master of the bare knuckle...I take John L. without the leather and Tony with the gloves on

I've been reading quite a bit on Sullivan lately and by all accounts he was, in the early 1880's, his prime, a very fast, very strong, superbly conditioned , murderous puncher. In gloves or bare fists this is a phone booth fight and Sullvan would have hurt him.
