Thanks for sharing and a great listen.

Amazing some of the tricks used on the B fighters and Ref O'Connor has also done over many fighters.

Sounds a great lad and he will always die wondering where his career would have progressed if O'Connor had not refereed the Fury and Williams fight where he won both by a mile.

Shocking listening to that that he kept getting O'Connor as a referee. As he told it, 15 minutes before the Fury fight they switch out the sick ref for O'Connor, who he put a few complaints to the board about. Definitely something going on there.

Yeah mate Terry O'Connor was always as bent as a 9 Bob bit but like John said he had a personal grudge against him because John's dad beat him twice once as an amateur once as a pro.

He was very unlucky to have been around when he was when there wasn't the big names in Britain big purses and at the tail end a lot of prospects like Joshua, Whyte, Hughie Fury sort of side stepped him for easier fights.

The other classic was being offered £1,700 to fight Dillian Whyte.

Yeah, that was a **** take. Though I guess they upped the offer as didn't he say he signed to fight Whyte in the end but then Whyte got banned. I'm guessing it was in 2012/13 when Whyte got in trouble over the Jack3D supplement.

He just had no luck whatsoever. Could have got some big scalps on his resume.

Cheers mate thanks for the support and yes I honestly think prime for prime he could have possibly beaten the likes of Dillian Whyte, Hughie Fury etc and been in some very exciting fights he was just came along at the wrong time when there was very little competition between the pro.oters and just stayed as the B side in all his biggest fights.

Really though ? I mean looking at Terry O'connors pro record he would have a grudge with a lot of people if he held them against people he lost too. I think this could be a case of thinking too deep. Is it possible O'Connor is just inept and bad at his job ?

How many of those who beat him had sons he reffereered though? If not that maybe it's possible he was taking bribes.

I get that mate but it is just circumstantial. Dont believe he took bribes (however it wouldnt be shocking either), i think in these situations the corruption is usually in plain sight. He was referring on Sky with a major promoter, it pays his career to look on the fighter with the big promoter nore favourably. Maybe he knew it would be controversial but didnt realise how bad it was ? Out of interest as you seem to know your boxing well whats your views on refs scoring fights for english title (thats right it was english title ?)

Yes I know, I believe after this fight they changed the rule for English title fights to 3 having to judge it.

Good fighter, just never got the rub of the green, a pioneer of the Fury/Ruiz "can look fat but is actually really physically fit" types .

Decision re Fury was terrible, albeit put right in the rematch.

    O'Connor badly corrupt and inept?

Not sure if he was corrupt or just inept the time he literally picked up Nathan Cleverly off the canvas, after he was illegally knocked down by Kovolev by being punched in the face
