Didn’t Big John revenge this in his final fight? Maybe wasn’t him but thought he beat that Skeleton guy I’m his last fight or was that Danny Williams?

Might have saved Terry a red face.

Link to a video of the fight there. Was something of an upset at the time.

A lot of people don’t realise guys like McDermott worked full time jobs and got their training done in the evening or done their roadwork before a hard days graft. Having to take unpaid leave to get work sparring etc. Makes you appreciate for every AJ or Fury, there’s 1000’s of McDermott’s in the world.

Nice one mate for some reason last night that wasn’t working but did today.
Yeah I remember, I expected McDermott to win as Larry was very crude but not in that fashion.

Absolutely and these PPV millions paid to the selected few does absolutely nothing for grass roots boxing

Mainly follow the pro game nowadays mate with the odd local show. Attend about 8 cards per year mainly in Liverpool and Manchester but will travel for a good card such as the WBSS in Glasgow last year.

I wish more people did. I've not seen grass roots pro Boxing in such a bad way in the 40 plus years I've been around the sport.
As you may have noticed, I don't always agree with your PPV stance 100% but the hoovering up of every available penny to the big shows and big names will be the death of local, small hall cards. I feel strongly that the Board should look at this urgently.

I watched both Fury/McDermott fights, and for sure there's a good strong argument for scoring the first for McDermott, but I had/have still no issue with it being called for Fury. That sort of a fight can be scored either way.

I do think Reid beat Calzaghe though, strangely enough and I am a fan of both.

I can’t remember how much it said but on my Fury Wilder ticket it said on it $3 (might have been more or less) per ticket goes to the Nevada commission for grass roots funding (or something along those lines). Basically the state puts an extra few quid on the tickets and puts it back in to youth/amateur clubs buying them equipment etc.

Good to hear - hopefully something similar is brought in here to help particularly many of the clubs up and down the UK struggling to keep going.
