It certainly is an advantage. You can rehydrate to much higher levels to get a huge weight advantage and some are known to even mask steroid use. Many weightlifters used Furosemide for that purpose. If they got caught, they got only caught for weightcheating, while the actual steroid use stayed undetected. Wich led to smaller much bans until they wised up and decided to give the same bans for known masking agents as being caught on actual steroids and such.
Technically he may have been ABLE to get an advantage, but he didn't "have" one...or at least he didn't show that he had one. Had he not been a human punch bag for the fight I might have accepted he had on... ...then again he did beat a convicted cheat that was aligned to TMT so maybe he learned something...kids, the drugs don't work!
Molina, unlike Broner, was obligated to make weight. They made up some ****amamie +1 lb when Broner came in overweight.
Well considering he just stood there like a tree all fight, it didn't make much of a difference. Diuretics helped him make weight, its not like he took steroids to make him train harder, get bigger and stronger. Peterson did that vs Khan and then used it to his advantage and really put it on Khan by having superior strength. Along with hometown cooking he just managed to s****e a split decision, even though most thought Khan won anyway. Now that's impressive.
wait, wait, wait! Didn't J'Leon Love get ****ted on for doing the same thing? Didn't he get accused of using PEDs and associate the rest of TMT to be cheaters because Love used this same harmless pill that Molina used? Which one is it?
so not only does he put in one of the worst performances of the last two years (imo), he gets caught cheating. :-( I like Molina but damn...
I don't think I've mentioned Love other than how much I dislike him and how happy I was he got KO'd by Porky Medina. Molina was most likely using diuretics to cut weight, Love was most likely using them to mask other PEDs there is a pattern of PED use with TMT isn't there?
Not a Broner fan but I remember many thought Broner would duck and avoid Molina based on his fight vs Matthysse.
So, he cheated and still couldnt win. Its amazing the different ways people spin something, depending on the popularity of the fighter or their opponent. Chavez is disliked so when he took a diuretic, he was "a filthy weight cheat who was probably flusihing out PEDs" Broner is disliked so when his opponent takes diuretics, hes "crippled, and drained from taking diuretics"
