He was on a boxing radio show the day before the fight. leave it in the ring. "very confident and ready to go" according to the host. I am listening to him on the new show and he blames the loss completely on being sick and that he came down with the flu right after the weigh in and that he was at 33% the night of the fight and that Honorio would not last more than 4 or 5 rounds with him normally and they would have called of the fight if it wasn't on Showtime. I did not see this fight? Did he seem like he wasn't a 100% or did he get his ass kicked and he is making bull**** excuses?
I saw that fight on ESPN and was very impressed with Honorio. I had seen Molina fight a few times before that and he didn't look too much different in the Honorio fight. The difference was when Molina landed Honorio didn't go anywhere or get hurt, instead he tagged Molina and got out of range and boxed his ears off. IMO, Molina underestimated the veteran fighter and paid with his 0.
Honorio is a game fighter. John Molina just didnt have his day. Plus i dont thinkd molina is really that good
Kind of funny. Molina, to an extent, reminds me of Pavlik. Big guy, big power, and bad footwork. He then gets, basically schooled, by Honorio and then he claims he was sick.
Molina even went as far as to say that Honorio knows this would happen too, that Honorio would lose and early, and therefore Honorio wouldn't even want a rematch. So he supposedly went from 100% to a sick vomiting mess right after the weigh in. Maybe.
