who wins this? Lundy is the favorite. G Houston picks Lundy. He says the kd vs Abril (vs Lundy) was a glove touching while he was off balance. So we shouldn't take too much from the SD result.

Molina looked good against lesser fighters but came up short vs Honorio. He now claims he was sick as a dog.

    So who wins this thing?

Depends if Molina learned anything against Honorio and if he has spent enough time trying to correct his deficiencies.
The fight was only 7 months ago so I'm not so sure. But on the other hand, Goosen is his trainer. So, he is capable of helping him turn things around.
Molina just looked amateurish. Came in constantly without jabbing and was getting picked off as he did. He had been fighting a bunch of guys moving up in weight and I think he got lazy. I don't think he had much of an amateur career either.

I'm hopeful it will be a good scrap.

This is a great matchup between two prospects. Lundy is very small, but he can move and give problems to Molina. Why will that give problems to Molina, well, last year on ShoBox Molina made his first step up against the craft veteran Martin Honorio, and lost almost every round. The thing is can Lundy keep moving and making the huge John Molina miss? I don't think he can. I think Lundy has successearly, but I believe Molina's constant pressure and punching power will breakdown Lundy late. I guess the fight I'm thinking this can turn out to be is a matchup of say a Margarito-Cotto...not on that level, but sort of like it it terms of the matchup.

I've seen Lundy box a couple of times - that one time on ESPN2 owning Tyrese Hendrix, and once in person (against Richard Abril - who was a late sub for Brad Solomon in what would have been a good battle of unbeaten prospects).

He's a good strong swarming volume fighter, fast but not super fast, doesn't sit down on most of his punches, and his defense is primarily his offense (prone to flash knockdowns but shows good recovery).

    Lundy should outpoint Molina. :good

It's also interesting that they share a ring nickname.

"Hammerin" Hank Lundy vs. John "The Hammer" Molina. Expect action. :deal

While Molina's length and heavy hands seem a significant edge on paper, Lundy is not the type to be intimidated into retreat and is a strong and compact little dude - having fought a couple of times at light welterweight.

Here he is popping the cherry of Kermit Cintron's brother Jason:
