    I'd like to see this @ 154.

I don't see it going past 4/5 rounds.

I like Hearns by KO early. He sticks his jab in Mugabi's face and then comes over the top with a big right hand.

One thing that robbed Mugabi of his stamina in the Hagler fight was Marvin was landing very hard shots for 10 brutal rounds, Mugabi absorbed enough in those rounds to take out Tommy twice.

I remember at the time reading I think it was KO magazine that said , Emanuel Steward wasn't letting Hearns anywhere near John Mugabi at 154 pounds .This was after Mugabi ko'd Earl Hargrove in one round and the crowd began chanting we want Hearns. That fight wasn't going to be made so he eventually fought Hagler. I'm not saying Tommy wouldn't beat John, he's the better fighter, but if Mugabi goes straight at Hearns he could definitely ko him inside 2

The more I consider it, this is one of those "whoever-lands-first" fights.

These two were supposed to fight at Light Middle. When Hearns was Champion, Mugabi was the number one contender but Emanuel Steward wanted no part of him.
Tommy is by far the more talented of the two but Mugabi's strengths as a Fighter are all bad news for him. Coming in low and a quick mover with fast hands and cartoon power John is Steward's nightmare, ( Tommy wasn't scared of anything and would fight anyone because he loved to fight ). Miss with one jab and Mugabi would be on Hearns and Tommy hadn't got the chin to handle Mugabi at full voltage.
    Mugabi in 4.
