I'm curious just how hard the posters here view him as hitting.

Was he comparable to Hearn's at 154? Did he clearly hit harder?

I'm imagining no one would take him as hitting harder then Julian Jackson at 154. Was his power even comparable, or a myth?

How would he do in the current 154/160 division?

    Misc thoughts on The Beast?

He was monstrous puncher but his delivery system wasn't that good. He had a lot of one punch KO's though.

I think he was a very good prospect prior to being ruined by Hagler. I somewhat agree with the above post as far as his delivery, but not fully. I thought he was a pretty good punch-picker, he just tended to load up a whole lot while leaving himself open in the process. That likely depended on the quality of the opponent, though. He fought a poised fight against Fletcher before disposing of him in brutal fashion. He also fought very well, landing flush counters on numerous occasions against Hagler before simply being ground down. Probably a bit more underrated these days than overrated.

I think he hit as hard as anyone of his era at 154 pounds.

As a boxer he was a bully, who was always found out when someone stood up to him, Hagler truly ruined him and turned him into a bit of a dog

But as a person he seemed genuinely nice, probably too nice for the sport, well, at least for the image Duff and co wanted him to carry around.
