At their respective best... who you got? Any tendencies that one could exploit in the other?

What you ain't got is a boring fight.

I think Graziano was better at taking and giving back, although I guess that depends on if you feel that the Hagler fight took something out of Mugabi to an unusual degree. Both were pretty wild and very tough.

    So Graziano.

Mugabi just didn't carry his power up when he fought above 154, so I don't see him beating Graziano.

You realize that Graziano was a natural welter/superwelter, right?

    He wasn't exactly Gerald McClellan.

graziano, I don't think ive ever picked him in a fantasy fight before but i'd favour him slightly here, not with much confidence tho.

mugabi has the better chin, but i think graziano has more power. if they go at it from the bell then i think graziano has the better tools for that fight, and if mugabi tries to box him a bit it could allow graz to build up steam. a lot depends on the ref and judges too.

i don't think a massive amount of either man but graziano may have suffered more than average from the lottery of which films survived and, although both men lost most of their important fights(at least in retrospect) he did pull out better victories.

And Mugabi was a natural super welter. Tough, intruiging fight, got to think about this one.

I thought John Mugabi carried his power well up to 160.
To even make Hagler blink you'd have to be a serious middleweight puncher.

His destruction of durable Curtis Parker was impressive too.

I watched the Hagler-Mugabi fight recently, and wondered who else could have taken The Beast's punches that night? I think Hagler's ridiculous chin made true punchers look less than impressive(Roldan, Sibson, for example) and punches Marvin took would floor anyone else.

As to the Rocky-Mugabi fight, I guess it would come down to who can take the best shot. I'd side with Mugabi, but wouldn't bet my life on it!

Both were, but IMO Graziano performed better above.

You're confused. John Mugabi has never changed his name.
