Some knockdowns here, but I reckon Roldan takes it on points or late stoppage in a predictable war. Truth be told, anything could happen here!!
Mugabi early. Huge edge in handspeed and Roldan would've been walking in which is the fights Mugabi looked best in.
Roldan was tough at 160 and shared an era with Hagler and Hearns but I think he could get past Mugabi in a tough brawl
Roldan's awkwardness and recklessness troubled some fine boxers. But he was easy to hit. Unlike Hearns, who had one cannon, and in basically one form, Mugabi had two cannons and they came in straights, hooks, and uppercuts. Mugabi also had decent defensive skills. The styles favor Mugabi. I don't know why somebody would say that Mugabi was a junior middleweight at his best. Mugabi was Hagler's size and a solid middleweight contender. He was ranked as a junior middleweight, but that was strategic marketing. They couldn't have imagined they would get a shot at Hagler's crown.
I'd favor Mugabi at his best. More then one of his wins pre-Hagler are underrated. He absolutely destroyed some very durable/dangerous fighters.
mugabi was an underrated boxer and a power puncher. If he mixes up those skills against roldan ( who was a straight up pucher), he could win. If he chose to slug it out, he'd most likely find himself on the canvas. Roldan had a stronger chin and it's a battle of chins as well as punching power
