John Murray given WBC final eliminator!

De Marco is mandatory again? Wasnt he just mandatory in March or something?
Im pretty sure this Estrada guy fought on Primetime before. That split feed card between mexico with Mayol main event and Peurto Rico with WV2-Sonsona. It was a fun fight that night but I remember the stoppage was very dodgy in the last round and he was the house fighter. Dont know what his style normally is but that fight was a real slugfest.
I also see in that link Olesegun is going to Algeria. I think he will beat that chebah kid. Chebahs well annoying, Naz wannabe with little or none of the skills. That fight will be terrible to watch

 

This will be where his poor progression with opponents comes to haunt him. It is a difficult leap from fighting journeymen to being in a world title challenge, and it is why it is so important to gradually raise the level of opponents for a prospect and have them move through high domestic opposition to European (if the latter offers sterner tests within a weight than domestic does) and tough international gate keepers before leaping into your shot at the big time.

I hope Murray manages it, but his career has been very lethargic in its progress and poorly structured.

 

Ive seen Estrada before , this is undoubtedly a considerable step up in class for Murray , shame actually i was looking forward to seeing Murray Mitchell , it would seem Kevin hasnt got his head straight yet .......... will be interesting who they match Mitchell with next .

Give Murray a break, he might not win, but we can't knock him for having poor opponents (not overly poor, but you know what i mean) to date, and then kick him in the head when he does step it up.

I like seeing the eliminators if it's fairly even .One thing about Murray is he's got there the hard way I remember so i'd say he's ready man .British and EBU belts .This is good for boxing for the UK that's Munroe Nishioka Burns Martinez Booth Molitor and Cleverley boxing for an eliminator as well also Rhodes should maybe get one soon as well .

 

Good luck to Murray i don't rate him as highly as some do on here but a British fighter in an eliminator is something to shout about. Big step up in class he will either prove himself or get found out hard to say which way it will go as the only evidence we really have is his domestic competition. Its make or break win and he is up there with the big boys lose and he is condemned to domestic/european level though the Mitchell fight is always there i suppose

 

Is DeMarco is the current mandatory then Murray is fighting for the next mandatory...it could be 2 years before that fight is enforced! It's good to be in an eliminator to move up the rankings but this won't get John a guaranteed shot anytime soon.

 

Can't see Murray suceeding at world level. Defence is sloppy. He'll get taken out early at world level, IMO!

 

Daniel Estrada is rated 50th in the world by boxrec he cant be all that

Estrada is a decent opponent. he will be far and away the best opponent Murray has faced and Murrays next fight is also a step up.

If he is world class, he should beat Estrada without to many problems.
