Good news to be honest. Value for money sluggers with no defence don't tend to last all that long, wish him all the best with next chapter in life.
Yes he was always good value to watch. The Rios fight really took a lot out of him weight disadvantage etc. Hope he stays retired this time.
I have nothing but respect for John Murray if he'd "lived the life" i have no doubt he'd have claimed a world title, game as they come & never took a step back.I wish him well & i'm grateful for the contribution he's made to the sport.
That's quite shocking given Sky's interest in GGG's fights. Great that the channel is backing boxing in a big way however.
Really like him I think he found his level though and should pursue another goal in his life. He done well to win British and European titles with very bad discipline and never really living the life, which leaves the question how far could he have gone?
I think even if he had lived the life he would of been short of world level. Great to watch domestic,Euro level he gave the fans what they wanted value for money fights no quarter given. A fighter I will always have good memories of class him like Michael Gomez if I knew they were fighting I didn't want to miss it.All action fights mandatory.
Followed his career from an early age and banged on about him to mates, I thought he was going to rule the world. I do wonder what would of happened had he either stayed with Joe Gallagher or gone to say a Jimmy Tibbs or Adam Booth. Was shocked when Mitchell done him, was one of those mouth wide open in shock moments.
