I honestly thought Mitchell would win because it came off the back of the Rios fight.John got I was told $20k extra because of Rios missing weight.That fight really took an immense amount out of him.

Your memory is failing you. Mitchell fight was before Rios. I remember being shocked at the actions of his team, he loses to Mitchell a guy who has been found out at world level so they then throw him in with an iron chinned world champion banger like Rios. Indicated to me that they thought he'd gone as far as he could and wanted to cash out on him.

 

John Murray , what a guy , but he got hit square every time , it must have felt like rocks.

Great offence along with a terrible defense = very exciting fighter.

I hope retirement treats him well.

Any news on his brother, what is he up to these days??

 

Terrible defense is an understatement.....got hit more times than Rocky

 

Echo what others have said great to watch at domestic/Euro level with a bit more attention to defence he may have been world level.

Common John was a solid British level fighter at best very predictable and one paced don't make him out to be something he's not.

 

Has a date/venue been decided for the GGG v Murray fight yet?
