John Murray -V- Willie Limond : A Great Fight!

This for me is a great fight, Willie deserves a shot at John Murrays British and European title, Its a good North against South scrap that I will will be fun to watch and good for both boxers.

Willie has lost only to three world class fighters, Alex Arthur, Amir Khan, Erik Morales, He was the former commonwealth champion and it will be a good experience for Murray and a chance for Willie to win EU crown.

They have both had about the same number of fights, Murray 30-0 and Limond being 33-3. I know both Willies and Murrays team visit this website so I wanted to ask about the chances of this fight being made.

Yeah I might have gotten slightly ahead of myself saying Alex Arthur was world class, He got to a world championship and lost to Nicky cook.

That being said I do this is a good fight, It will be a test for John Murray, Willie Limond is a big step up from Al Hamidis, McAllister, Meagre et al. Plus it gives Willie the chance to fight for the EU crown.

 

Basically, Limond is a former commonwealth champion, The same title that Lee McAllister who was outboxing Murray is now defending in the Aberdeen beach ballroom against unknown Africans and getting a home town decision each and every time.

Limond has mixed in there with tougher competition than Murray I feel, If Murray can get Limond out of there faster than Khan or Morales would be a good name on his record. But its not just about Murray its also about Limond getting a shot at a title again.

If this fight is not made then Limond should try to land a fight with McAllister for his old commonwealth title, Limond will beat McAllister for sure, No doubt in my mind about that one, Murray-Limond will be more challenging for both.

 

Yeah its possible he might turn it down, He might fancy his chances awell.

That being said who do you think should be John Murrays next opponent, Because from what ive seen he is not at world class level.

If not Limond, I like John Molina Jr then move towards landing a world title fight. But getting a world title fight is one thing, Winning it another, Defending it even more difficult, Unifiying the titles?

Murray could end up like Salita if he is not careful, A protected fighter with a padded record that got blown away the second he stepped up to the world class level. Salita was also 30-0 when he fought for a world title, we all know what happened there.
