Murray has not fought anyone near the class of Hatton, it's one thing taking out a shot Thaxton, Hatton would stop him.
At this time in both fighters careers I think think the fight is a great one to make. Murray will never get to the highs of Hatton but this could be a great honest fight.
I obviously respect your opinion but I honestly don't think that Hatton is finished to the extent where he would consider taking what in effect would be a domestic contest as a final farewell. I really do believe that Hatton would stand Murray well and truly on his head.
Two Manchester fighters. One hugely popular and the other with a fair amount of fans. One fighter after a 'war' to say goodbye to his fans and trhe other a guy who gives a war and is on the way up and needs a break through fight. This fight would be huge and far better than watching Hatton vs someone of the Lazcano type who no one cares about. Hatton will probably want ppv but if not then this fight could tick all the right boxes, obviously at 140. I am no huge fan of Murray but I do think that he has enough to beat Hatton at the moment. Personally I hope Hatton retires and does not come back.
Deep down I hope he doesn't come back, but if he wants one more domestic curtain call he should get on the phone to Junior Witter. Witter would take it and it would be a last hurrah for both fighters.
As above! Hatton still has appeal/draw in America and could easily fight a JMM etc and sell out in Vegas and so on. So why would he fight a domestic fighter (i like Murray, but he will not be anything on the world stage) when he can still mix it with world class oppo? p.s. altho saying the above, always have wanted to see hitman destory quitter witter :happy
