Anybody else heard that John Murray's career is over because of a shadow appearing on a brain scan?

If true I suppose with the way he fought it wouldn't be a big surprise but he isn't that old and will be a loss to British boxing.

Maybe this has been covered already as I've been away working and not managed to keep up to date with the boxing news.

    Any info?

Shame if true because he's always good to watch, but with his fighting style he was never gonna have a long career, he has no defense at all.

Also people going overboard. He's had 2 beatings only. To Mitchell and Rios. That's it. He's had a few wars but with mostly light punchers at domestic level

The people near him should have threw the towel in 3 rounds earlier

Had a real tough run for the British title as well. Remember him having good fights with Meager, Lawton, McAlister, Buckland and the Thaxton fight which came a bit too late. Also the Mitchell fight gave us plenty domestically.

His style is always the worst to move up with from Euro level at the lower weights. Always going to come up against a fighter who use that style better and is much bigger. He gave it a good go when he got there though.

His style was never going to have longevity, he's had plenty of tough fights even if they aren't big punchers, plus gym wars i can imagine.

He has been fortunate that his chin is solid. But taking headshots for prolonged periods in a bout does more harm than just being knocked out early to fight another day.

I'd say if it is safe in regards to the brain scan he should have another fight. But try to learn a more defensive savvy style, and see if he can avoid taking so many punches. If it works for him, then I see no reason for him to not continue his career.

IF however he continues to win but take alot of punishment in doing so, then he should think about his health and hang'em up.
