ITV kept mentioning that he might be weight drained but it didn't seem like it.

It was a good performance from Murray and I was really impressed with his work on the inside though he could have worked the body more. I really think he is one of the best in-fighters in Britain. He really picks his punches well and mixes them up. Put together with his high workrate he can be a handful for anyone.

The first KD seemed dodgy, Lawton took a lot punches but it was a shove that put him down. It was a good stoppage from the ref, Lawton had been on the receiving end for nearly 6 rounds and it was all one way traffic in Murray's favour.

Still little head movement from Murray and he could have used the jab more effectively to set up his punches and work his way inside. However, he covers up well.

Murray's also starting to be more consistent. Great performance against Meager and two good performances against McAllister and Lawton. He now needs to fight Thaxton and the Euro champion. No more hanging around at this level.

Didn't think he put a foot wrong in there. Yeah he takes the odd shot, but that happens when you throw in volume.

The commentators were spastics, they were desperate for Scott Lawton to beat big bad John Murray, who lost his title on the scales and was bound to be out of shape

He's got great variety, picks shots off on his gloves pretty well, decent power but more importantly the volume, great physical strength and engine. This guy is difficult for anyone.

    Exactly my thoughts :good

The ITV crew were looking for something that wasn't there tonight.

He's very exciting and has really found a style that suits him. He does get hit a lot, and misses with a lot of punches but his determination and variety was very impressive tonight.

Was really impressed with him tonight, looked like a man possessed.

TBH i fear for Thaxton if they fight in Sept, dont think he has enough left in the tank to beat Murray.

I've always rated Murray highly. So I'm not suprised.

However I would still like to him leave Joe Gallagher. He's 24 Gallagher has taken him a long way but it's time for John to step up in class of opponent and class of trainer.

I've always thought John Murray would be a world champion and still do. He has his flaws but can still improve. And imo his strengths outweigh his weaknesses by quite a margin.

He beat the crap out of a weak opponent. You mention the McAllister fight, that guy was clearly a better boxer and if he wasn't featherfisted probably would've beaten Murray. He's is flawed and one-dimensional, certainly not a future world title holder.

Interesting that Lawton said Khan hurt him more than Thaxton or Murray.....I always assumed Khan was just a speed merchant

If I was Frank Warren I wouldn't be desperate to put Amir in with this man.

It's one thing dancing around a technical stand up boxer like Kotelnik, but if he can't hurt John Murray he's in a world of trouble later on in the fight.

Yeah Diaz, a guy who gets hit easily himself. Murray is no Michael Jennings.

I'd make Diaz favourite but Murray would ask him a few questions.

Also what would the point in him at the age of 24 being undefeated and not looking to reach the very top level?

Stick to putting British boxers down, you do it so well.

I have always said Murray stops Khan. Bad stylistic match up for Amir, yet some people seem to think he's a couple of levels above Murray.
