John Murray has had a £1,500 fine dished out to him by the BBBofC due to not making the lightweight limit of 135lb against Scott Lawton. It seems that is where the punishment will end. Hopefully this means he wont be out of action for long:

I think that's a fair punishment. Hopefully Murray v Thaxton can be made now.

Smart move by the BBBofC they know the fans want to see Murray vs Thaxton and they know Murray made a honest mistake and i think he's learnt lesson now so i feel they done what's best for us the fans and the fighters.

Its the right decision - he was overweight, but by very little and he just got his calculations wrong at the last minute. Plus it now paves the way for the inevitable Thaxton fight sooner rather than later.

Early predictions? I've a sneaking suspicion Thaxton will knock him out.

Yeah it's a warm up fight. They've had that penciled in for a while i suppose they want Thaxton going into fight with Murray on back of a win.

Murray TKO - I think Thaxton has been in too many wars.

    Just a warm-up fight.

Personally, I think Thaxton's only chances of winning are if he can stick the pressure on Murray early. That said, Murray likes to trade and Thaxton has shown signs of tiring in recent fights in the latter rounds. Murray TKO late.

Thaxton will present a few problems John hasn't had for a long while a person he can't force back and bully and a guy who's as big as him and can bang and likes a war. Thaxton will enjoy that Murray's willing to trade with him aswell.

This won't be easy for John he will need to fight with brains and use more of his skills then he's had to for a long while. Thaxton has a real chance in this fight for me but i still feel Murray should be betting favorite.

Billy loves a fighter whos got a edge in toughness. lol

Fair enough Khan aint got the chin but hes got the instinct to fight back when hes hurt, thats what alot of critics ignore of Khan, hes got a fighting heart when he has to, although long as hes professional in the ring he wont need to fight with his heart and can win easy with speed.

Murray i really think he needs to defend alot more and keep the hands up more elusively when he comes forward, cause eventually he'll get into wars as he steps up and similar to Ricky Hatton, the swarming in, fighting with toughness and walking through punches will be Murrays downfall, the more wars he gets in the more damage its gonna inflict upon his career when hes aiming for the best fighters if he gets there and so on.
