Yeah, that's a fair point. At heavy you can sort of skate by on just brawn without much skill. At cruiser, though, you can't really get away with doing the opposite. Not too many feather-fist greats at 200lbs.

Tervel’s gonna be a force lol he has crazy backing. His big bro seems to care more about Tervel’s career than his own

Think Patrick Mailata will be a much better HW prospect than Fa or Ahio when he turns pro, though that may not be until after the olympics in 2020.

Fighting with his mouth wide open and wearing those oversized shorts in that video of his debut gives him a bit of a Samoan mental patient look.

This is John's opponent for Saturday:
    http://boxrec.com/en/boxer/446468

They were supposed to meet on the Joe Parker vs. Hughie Fury undercard, not sure what happened, somebody probably withdrew injured or had visa issues or something. :nusenuse:

I can't find any footage of Parker vs. Dawai II anywhere, so we can't really evaluate his improvement from the first match, but I've read firsthand accounts that he did look a lot better (and light hitting aside, he didn't look all that bad in his pro debut, to me) :nusenuse:

John Parker suffered an injury and has been pulled from this fight. The opponent he was going to fight was pathetic and seems like a match just to pad out John Parkers record. We can do without having to watch/suffer such bullsh#t fights. Junior Fa looked atrocious in his last fight and lacks a pulse it seems. He changes trainers as often as he does his undies by the looks of it. One Kiwi to look out for is Mose Aumitangi and he is going to make a splash on this under card, so keep an eye on him, he is something worth watching me thinks.

What, seriously? That makes the second time in six months Parker vs. Chamberlain has been scrapped. Going to go down as the lamest anticlimax in the history of boxing. I don't even want to watch a match with Chamberlain and it appears to be a regressive step for Parker on paper, but at this point it feels like "just get it over with and fight already".

Julius Long is higher P4P in all honesty. Based on how bad Fa looked last time out I wouldn't be all that shocked if Long upset him if they were to fight.

It's still better than Canada lol, yeah we had Lemieux (Maybe? for a little whole) and Adonis (He doesn't really count), boxing is completely dead here though :(.

    Yes, raised here.

Boxing is just so dead here, like less popular than curling type dead.

What a crummy place to follow boxing.

Bruh you've got to pay more attention to your domestic scene. Christian M'Billi is the damn truth. Slick, powerful, total package. I mean, technically he's Cameroonian born and French by nationality but he's based in Montreal and dollars to donuts he's working towards citizenship there. You all can probably claim him as legitimately as you did, say, Bute.

Yves Ulysse Jr. is right up your alley, @MVC!, he's slick as hell.

You guys have Steven Butler, Erik Bazinyan, Steve Rolls, Brandon Cook... I don't think you get to commiserate with a black hole of talent like NZ is at present (no offense, @KiwiMan !)

    Check your privilege! :D

I mean, almost none of our fighters if any are born and raised here.

It's mostly fighters that were born out of the country and moved here and got their citizenship after living here for a certain amount of time

    :xqw

Besides Lemieux, I can't think of any boxer who was born and raised here.

So many of our Canadian boxers were born outside here and just came here for citizenship. :xqw

We just don't have the infrastructure to support boxing (Well outside of Montreal).

If Toronto put money into this damn sport, we'd have so many more boxers coming out of here. :headbash

    It's honestly so stupid.

Oh, Toronto's best boxer atm is the guy fighting Amir Khan. Lo Greco. Smh.
