Tut-tut, you have a homegrown pug set to knock Amir Khan spark out in about three weeks! :deal:

Dude, I would trade all of the boxers in this country for someone like Joseph Parker or Tua.

    Our boxers are so mediocre.

Ugh...just the other day I was just reading a thread from when David Tua was active (before the precipitous decline that reached critical mass in Barrett I, the good old days back when Tuaman laid claim to having never been dropped and still had the aura that he might be a substantial KO threat against Wlad), got me super bummed out. So many of us stayed baited on the hook and beaming optimism for so long after the warning signs that his career was going to amount to nothing in the grand scheme of things. So many low-rent PPV main events against bums without it sinking in that he probably wasn't going to become a world champ pushing forty and only having one punch in his arsenal. :ohno

That dude got double- and triple-fucked over by management and people in his close personal inner circle. I don't for sure know that being surrounded with the right people would've changed the way things panned out for him, but it sucks that he wound up broke at the end, and you have to wonder if things could've been different.

Undoubtedly one of the most fun hw's to watch. Honestly great to see NZ have another HW talent in JP, I wish Canada had even a HALF decent HW to bring some life to boxing here. Yeah he was never world champ, true, but he's had a relatively good career of damn near 60 fights, that's already incredibly impressive for a boxer in the modern day era, especially a HW.

How I wish we had a Tuaman in Canada, but no, our best HW boxer is Bermane Freaking Stiverne. :drooling:

I'm not even kidding when I say this, no one actually knows him in Canada. I saw 0 news about him when he was defending vs Wilder in 2015, or any of his other fights..

Well, don't hold your breath for that, your closest at the moment is Simon freaking Kean... :sisi1

His ceiling is "the north-of-the-border Tommy Morrison", and that's being generous.

Tommy was damn underrated. World Champ, 45-2. I'm thinking midway between him and big bro.

Definitely a good fighter, and approximately 10x better than any HW Canada has on the comeup LOL.

How is it even remotely possible that a 1st world country like Canada could be so poor at developing boxing talent. It baffles the mind.

Canada is such a joke outside of Hockey, Lacrosse.

Ehhhhh hold up, remember that being a stud in the amateurs doesn't ALWAYS translate into pro success to match. For every Lomachenko there is a handful of Beterbiev or John Joe Nevin types (and yes I could've thought of better examples since technically neither has lost yet, but you get my drift; they went from sensational in the amateurs to "bleh" on this side)

A couple of the Frenchies are pretty good. Quebec is the best part of your country also. No offense. Bro, although I haven't been to Vancouver, it seems like the same azzhats you meet in Seattle.
