Ranked 10th WBC, 9th IBF, 3rd in the world by Boxrec in Super Bantam. He will make his comeback in September (exact date to be confirmed) in Macao, China, against Japan's Toshiki Shimomachi, 27, ranked 12th in the world by Boxrec in the Super Bantamweight division, 2nd in the Japanese national rankings in the division (behind Naoya Inoue), ranked 11th WBC, 8th IBF. 18 wins (12KOs) for 1 loss and 3 draws.
His best days are obviously behind him and I don't think he was ever that good to begin with. He's looked poor in recent fights, wouldn't be shocked is the rangy Shimomachi made him look bad again.
Casimero was never really as good as most people wanted him to be. Still wouldn’t mind seeing him get a shot against the top fighters though. He’s a fun fighter to watch when matched with the right opponents. Just needs to get his sh/t together already.
He had years to get his sh/t together but instead barely fought, only having 3 fights in 3 years. He seems more active now as this will be his 3rd fight this year but I suspect it's too little, too late. Once he was seen as dangerous, now I think he's living off past achievements and just hoping if he keeps fighting someone will throw him a bone and give him an opportunity. That might happen but when it does and he again steps up to that top level, he'll get outclassed.
