I have his career DVD set (seriously).

He was a magnificent, misunderstood warrior.

    1. Have you ever rewatched a fight of his?

    Oh God no.

    2. Have you ever hoped he would win?

    No.

    3. Do you see him as a legit HW champ?

He beat an old ass Holyfield for a vacant belt in a decision that could have gone either way. So...just barely.

    4. Do you think he would be lineal in ANY era of HWs?

Maybe if he fought an unmotivated Max Baer who was clowning around or an old Jack Johnson who fought Willard? And even those fights he could definitely lose and wouldn't be favored.

    5. Have you watched
    A. None of his fights
    B. 3 fights or less
    C. 8 fights or less
    D. 12 fights or less
    E. All of them (There are help lines)

I've seen the Holyfield bouts, Tua fight, Ruiz, Toney, Haye, and maybe 1 other so C.

    6. Who do you think he could beat?
    A. Archie Moore
    B. Mac Foster
    C. Floyd Patterson
    D. Not one

Maybe Mac Foster. Moore is too skilled and Patterson too fast and aggressive for the basic jab and grab defensive tactics of Ruiz.

I watched the Tua fight and the Holyfield fights.

It was obvious Holyfield was well past it.

A combination of Kings connection and very clever matchmaking combined with a rather overall weakening of the division greatly aided Ruiz.

He wouldn't have won any title in the 70s 80s or 90s.

    Just a brutal destruction.

Can you imagine someone telling ou then that Ruiz will win a title and Tua wont- you'd have laughed in his face. Of course Tua didn't have the King connection and was matched tougher.

You admit that he's not great at anything but yet you picked him to beat Larry Holmes?
