Of course, John Ruiz doesn't want to fight Klitschko, the real champion, he says he's cleaning up the division but that he wants the winner of Peter Maskaev.

I highly doubt he'll even beat McCline. Does anyone think we'll ever see this guy fight Klitschko so we never have to see him again?

Ruiz knows that the Peter Maskaev winner is obligated to fight Vitali, no later than NEXT, so why he make such a statement?

actually I think he has a chance. Not that ruiz is better than wlad in any way but I honestly think it'll be a boring fight ala (ruiz vs. Oqendo). I can very well see Ruiz's hugging & molesting neutralizing Wlad's jab and them both fighting on the inside (on the inside in which wlad loves to hold) and I truly see that based on styles being a boring snoozer. With ruiz even if he loses making an account and whining saying he got robbed. That's just my take. I really believe the reason he didn't mention Wlad is because I don't think he's in the top ten in the IBF. he has (especially if he beats Jameel) the opportunity to raise in the ranks and fight for the wbc belt.

Vitali should fight Ruiz... that would be perfect.

No way Ruiz beats Peter, Maskaev, Klitschko or anyone else. He won't even beat McCline. His days were over years ago, and he hasn't really won a legitimate fight in a while.

The same maskaev who got ko'd by corey T-rex sanders, or the same klit that lost to ross purrity (you know that fight people love to sweep under the rug like it never happened) . Well in the case of ross. If you watched that fight he kept coming forward mauling wlad. Wlad used all his energy to try and get him off and ran out of gas. One thing about the grab & jab. real tiring when you have this big guy wrestling you and you try to get him off and get your punches through. Don't mistake me in the least. Wlad is head's and shoulders better than ruiz. But in this day & age where somehow the jab & grab/molest has become equal to "good boxing" (hatton, wlad) . it could be an effective strategy to neutralize his jab. Wlad usually uses his distance to set up for the one, two. but Ruiz would probably rush in wildly (in which Wlad IS NOT a good counterpuncher) and when john gets close he hugs/gropes and molests wlad. BASED ON STYLES I see that fight being a snoozer. Like Bonecrusher smith vs. mike tyson. As quick as tyson was and his incredible handspeed, It was nuetralized with bonecrusher's constant hugging and molesting. Back in the good ole days you would get disqualified for that or lose a wide UD seeing that it's obvious you aren't there to really fight you're just being cheesy. But again in today's boxing that crap gets rewarded. Look at his title defenses Ruiz "won". especially the golota fight. Had he fought a non-cheesy non-hugging fair fight Golota was schooling him. He went back to hugging and it "won" him the fight. Same here in a fair traditional fight based on skill wlad will beat the living crap out of ruiz. but in millenium boxing where Ruiz is actually rewarded for hugging . I again can see him rushing in and hugging wlad all night and lasting to the final bell. Then when he loses he'll start crying saying he was robbed. again just my take . Don't mistake me i'm not saying he's better or more skilled but I think his cheesiness would let him make it to rd. 12. bottomline with a fighter like ruiz who wrestles instead of boxes. he has the potential to "beat" anyone or at least go the distance. Question, since the tua debacle and he started this jab & grab strategy, How many times has ruiz been knocked out?
I'll give you a hint less than 1. lol

Ruiz is the greatest Latin heavy of all time, he don't need to be wasting no time on a grappling bum like Wladimir. We need to see him in with Chagaev or Iggy.

Let me be the first to say that Ruiz will blow out Mcline, than beat Peter or Maskaev and than get blown to smitherines by Klitschko. Ruiz is actually a good awkward fighter but very boring but has nothing for Klitschko.

He's putting himself in the perfect position to step in when (not if) Vitali pulls-out of the fight.

    Smart move.

Before you go trashing Wladimir, he lost to Purrity by tired. He didn't lose a decision or by getting knocked out cold. As a matter of fact, Ruiz has been knocked out cold exactly 1 (ONE) more time than Wlad has, which is zero point zero.

If you watch a Wlad fight, he doesn't let people molest him with hugs and clinches because he keeps them off him with the jab, and if he needs to, HE is the one who hugs and clinches to avoid inside fighting which is not his expertise.

Sorry, but you don't put yourself into a position to fight anyone. If Vitali steps out or doesn't fight for any reason, Gomez will be the next one in.

Ruiz doesn't write his own ticket. Another one of Ruiz' famous press releases won't do him any good.

i actually think he would make things very tough for wlad... of course i think my man would win... but it would be a hell of a lot tougher then austin, brock and brewster was...
