He wouldn't be where he's at if he wasn't good fighter, he's better than some give him credit for, a 2 time HW champ and consistently in the top 10.

Exactly. Ruiz has no boxing skills to speak of - which is WHY he had to hold excessively or fake "low blows" to "win" fights.

He is NOT a "good" fighter. The exact opposite, in fact. A talentless glorified clubfigher who cheated to "win" victories against fighters he could never beat WITHIN the rules.

What did he take your ****ing parking space? Your posts of him are always of hate. **** if I was still in contact with him, I would set-up a fight between both of you and I bet you will be cheating and holding on to dear life. He is fighting for his third world title, has money, and he is actually a very down to earth guy. Played football, hungout with the guys after training, and he is a very humble person. He fights court systems for his chances and he markets himsefl well. I rather have him as champion instead of Valuev. Valuev will milk the title while Ruiz would fight Vlad or whoever is next. Hater!!!

Ruiz is a cheater, who held titles fraudulently based on violating the rules. He was able to do all this because of his connections with King. As a fan of this sport, it is utterly offensive to see fighters "win" titles in this manner - rising to levels far beyond what their limited abilities merit based on cheating and corruption. It goes against all the rules of sportsmanship and fair play.

Ruiz may be a very nice guy outside of the ring, but as a fan of the sport what matters to me is what he does inside it. And that is just disgraceful. He's made money cheating opponents and fans alike. Fans praising him is a little like the old lady congratulating the guy who stole her purse!

John has shown a lot of mental toughness since his devestating loss to David Tua in AC, he went into a bubble and rebuilt his career by not letting the negetive garbage bother him. He hammered a few supposed stiff tests to defeat along the way.. (Jerry Ballard) was actuall favoured to give John hell and was battered by an all out assault early.. The whole thing surrounding John being negetive sometimes baffles me, he is always in shape (Unlike recent Povetkin opponent Taurus Sykes) and half of the damn division. He often although never the most enthralling fighter beats guys with savvy and ruggedness.. Johnson and Holyfield were shocked at how rough he was to dominate.. John always finds a way to beat you, Mike Spinks did similar in the 80's when he moved to heavyweight , he'd grab your little toe to get an edge... I dont love Johns style, but i don't have hate for him either, remember the loss to Tua...??? well who regrouped and became the world champ.. It wasn't David, it was Ruiz... It always looks easy to beat some men until you tangle with them.. so save your comments about him being the worse title holder in so many years when you have had men like Michael Bentt holding belts and men like Tim Tomasheck fighting for em...

Good post. Explain that to Zakman. He has Ruiz compared to a purse snatcher. It was actually funny though.

    Colourful highlite reel..................

    I actually enjoyed those memories..

Ruiz is not the worst beltholder in 30 years..

Not when heartless guys like Seldon and Hide were both champs....

Seldon and Hide are nothing special, true - but at least they won some fights WITHIN the rules!

THAT's what makes Ruiz the worst HW beltholder of all time - the excessive holding, the faked "low blows," the gift decisions, all the chicanery that accounts for a talentless slug like this holding title belts fraudulently!!:yep

The best part of a John Ruiz fight is when John goes to his corner after a round and Norman Stone puts on a show. Thats basically the only reason why a John Ruiz fight might be exciting.

    Norman is ****in hilarious

This is almost as brutal as watching porn on HDTV.
