Former two-time WBA heavyweight champion John "The Quiet Man" Ruiz (41-7-1, 28 KOs) stopped Otis Tisdale (26-18-1, 15 KOs) at :45 of round two. "I felt a little rusty tonight and butterflies because it's been a while," said Ruiz. "This guy tonight helped me get out the cobwebs. I wanted Liakhovich but I guess he didn't want to fight. I hope my performance tonight jumps me over Liakhovich in the rankings. I'd like to fight Valuev in an elimination bout and then go on to face Chagaev. That's my plan. I want to win a third heavyweight title." God forbid that ever happens.
he did make a good showing. no holding, bear hugs, etc... maybe he's finally changed his style together w/ changing his trainer.
I wouldnt mind Ruiz being Wlads opponet in Febuary since unification will not happen why not ? Its already been dam near 4 years. Anyway Ruiz is a former Champ so hes a quality opponet and Wlad could KO him cold and retire him for good.
ruiz has changed hios style apparently, the chagaev fight didnt have alot of holding i hear, i like ruiz, people hate him but he just keeps chugging along
