Are you off your friggin meds, mate? Sorry to be so combative, but really, get real! One man, Povetkin is an undefeated Olympic gold medalist who beat one of the best American prospects (Chambers) to come along in years. The other is a shelter Eastern European fighter who has no amateur background and who didn't even start in the sport until his 20s. Valuev always relied on brute strength and size rather than skill. And while he does have a hand (or a few fingers) worth of decent victories, he is hardly what I or anyone would call skillful in the ring. To be blunt, he's a ****ing oaf. :nut
You going to tell me that Wlad should get more credit for defeating an undefeated prospect in Povetkin, then for Haye Winning the WBA HW Title in the ring against Nicolay Valuev? The WBA title is a real big deal, ok.
Uhmm. No it isn't. The WBA title has long been the most lightly-regarded title at heavyweight. Valuev? The guy was a washed up never was fighter. Even in his prime the Ring ranked him as the numer 5 heavyweight, behind contended. When Haye beat Valuev he was the number 7 heavyweight according to Ring, Fightnews, and Eastside Boxing. There is good reason for this, he got beat up by a 46-year-old Evander Holyfield who wasn't a top 20 heavyweight at the time. So, to answer your question....yes. Wlad beating Povetkin would be a more impressive victory because Povetkin is currently a much better fighter than Valueve is, was, or has ever been.
He's laughing because your responses are ridiculous. In fact, they're really not worth me even moving my fingers for I suppose I am bored. Valuev was a nothing...In fact, he was ranked behind 3 non-titlists when Haye beat him.
Sad state of the sport that this tub of lard is though of in such a way. You would think with all the football big men out there more would step up and make a run at boxings highest chair. Perhaps the sport can't compete with the NFL for money and longterm health.
Though Ruiz indeed has a good resume, as of now he definately is not the best US-heavy. This term belongs to Eddie Chambers easily. p4p Eddie is even better than the Klitschkos.
Ruiz is one of the top dogs in boxing, without a doubt. The run he had with the WBA proved that quite conclusively. Ruiz has an amazing resume.
It's pretty clear that the recent attempts to pump up this cheating slug come from Haye fans trying to make it seem more impressive when he destroys this glorified clubfigther. Most boxing fans know how terrible Ruiz is.
