Connections, baby - that's what connections will do for. You can be a talentless palooka like Ruiz but if you have the right CONNECTIONS, you can get undeserved title shot after undeserved title shot, and cheat your way to "wins," and call yourself a "champion." Ability doesn't matter if you're promoted by the right people.

John Ruiz - the POSTER BOY for boxing corruption.

TBA got injured during training and has been replaced by McCline.

I think Ruiz is old reliable. No arguments over money. No arguments over location. No politicial battles over the size ring etc etc etc. He takes the fight on any days notice and thus he gets a lot of big money fights. Likewise on Zab "Na'am Sayin" Judah.

Unbelievable. The heavyweights will never improve with this type of mandatory.

He already beat the fraud garbage Valuev TWICE, like ancient Holyfield and ancient Donald already did too.

He can have a third fight with fraud Valuev and will get robbed again if he goes to Germany for it.

I love how Ruiz doesn't have to win mandatories...or even his last fight or even a majority of his last 5 bouts. Usually this type of favoritism only happens to popular boxers.

:good If he beats him 7-5 or 8-4, he's getting robbed again.
    Valuev is f_cking sad.

not if he fights Valuev and Holyfield and Oquendo forever. If he fights the Klitchkos he will lose and probably not be in a championship position again. But we will always see him fight the lower level guys. He will never go away. I think he had something to prove after being knocked out in 30 seconds against Tua. He already has proven that he is better than that, but he keeps fighting.

His loss to Ruslan was apparently close as well. Although I haven't seen it so who knows accurately.

No, no, the division is just FINE, its just lacking STARS, not talent. People will come to realise this when evaluating Waldo's legacy.:yep

Seriously, thats what Moronic Klitites like Window and Dumbskull will tell you.

Wlad has a better chance at winning a grammy for the Transformers movie than being recognized as an ATG.

CONNECTIONS. Makes up for complete lack of talent, deservingness, everything. It is why the whole Ruiz Fraud is one of the most disgraceful episodes in boxing history.

At this point I consider the WBA belt a complete joke. I could give **** all if Wlad or his brother ever has that belt. It has no credibility of being a "Championship" title.

To be fair it has been one of the most pathetic 'titles' in boxing for almost a decade. I forget when exactly, but Lewis must have been stripped of/vacated the thing roundabout 2000 - 2001? It lost all credibility then and there, but still allows itself to smear itself in shame more and more....

Since then its been a scrapped over by a shot Holyfield, Ruiz, two former MW's, Ruiz, Valuev, (swho gave it some of the worst HW defences ever, even in this day and age) Chagaev, Ruiz, Valuev, Ruiz, Chagaev, and now Ruiz. Did I mention John Ruiz?:tired
