Ruiz should've been DQ'd for excessive holding in just about every fight I've seen him in, the 2 fights that he didn't illegaly hold in he got raped (RJJ, Tua). Ruiz is trash.
Ruiz fought very good competition, you can“t take that away from him. I like Ruiz, hes cool. "The ref sucks, come on Johnny, f... the referee" thumbsup:hat [YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8TVi6qugGBw[/YT]
Sure, let's talk Ruiz. Let's talk about how his connections with Don King got him title shots he didn't deserve, and "victories" he shouldn't have "won." Let's talk about how once Ruiz discovered his mediocre boxing abilities wouldn't be competitive with top level fighters, how he then resorted to blatantly and repeatedly violating the rules against excessive holding. And let's talk about how his connections with King allowed him to get away with it! Oh, and while we're at it, let's talk about Ruiz's overacting when hit with borderline body shots to force bogus, and decisive, "low blow" calls in at least three fights (Thunder, Holyfield II, Johnson). And, let's not forget to talk about how Ruiz ripped off the fans of seeing the boxing matches they PAID to see with his illegal and disgraceful tactics, and how he cheated his opponents of their opportunity to win WITHIN the rules!! John Ruiz is a disgrace to the sport of boxing. Exhibit A of the corruption that is ruining this sport. A glorified clubfighter who wouldn't have sniffed a title without Don King
to each his own. i know that if i paid my hard earned money to watch a fight and ruiz showed up, i would be mad as hell.
He is two-time World heavyweight champion we mustn't forget! And he will challenge the Valuev-Chagaev winner. The winner will have to face Ruiz until 30 May 2010!
Get out of the corner... don't ref a fight you bet on! He held the whole fight! He held the whole fight! Let's see... something nice to say about Ruiz... hey, I've got a few: 1) he showed us just how good RJJ was 2) he's not content to land with just his fist; he throws his whole torso at the guy 3) every time we see him, it's not just must-see, it's mandatory 4) he's great for those chop-logic a > b > c > a things. For example: John Ruiz > Hasim Rahman > Ross Puritty > Wlad Klitschko > Chris Byrd > David Tua > John Ruiz
I agree. You deserve credit standing up for Ruiz instead of what most people do by being nuthuggers to Mayweather Ruiz has put his all into the sport of boxing, I give him credit-unlike Floyd Mayweather.
Its not a good sign when the most exciting part of a guys fights are seeing how his trainer will berate the referee.
