Ruiz, as amazing as it seems, is actually being overrated. He is LIMITED. Without the cheating, he's no better than Meehan. Assuming the rules are enforced, this is a pick 'em fight.

LOL at these people picking Ruiz by KO. :rofl Other than bums, Ruiz hasn't scored a legitimate KO since King maneuvered him undeservedly into the ratings in the late 90s. :-(

Meehan is a tough determined fighter who I don't think will get rattled by Ruiz's dirty tactics. Meehan's problems have usually come against bigger punchers like Danny Williams and Hasim Rahman, which Ruiz isn't.

Meehan will use his jab and good right hand and keep Ruiz at bay. And bust up Ruiz from the outside.

    Meehan ud10 Ruiz

Ruiz couldn't "school" anybody above a low-level regional clubfighter - that's why he has to cheat to "win" against world class fighters.:yep

It was Valuev who did all the holding while the agressive Ruiz got close moving his head?

Why havent you seen Ruiz's changes?

Would you love him If he Ko'ed Fraudley?:D

Absolutely. And he may have deserved the nod in that fight. He bangs out Meehan without much trouble.:smoke:smoke:smoke

John Ruiz actually is a pretty damn good HW. He may be past his prime at this point but he still looks good against Tisdale and Chagaev despite losing that one.

Ruiz has, however, lost most of his head movement which sucks...he used to have GREAT head movement for a HW. He is also a very strong fellow. And he has a dynamite right hand that is sneaky as hell.

Ruiz may be past prime but i think he could DEFINITELY beat Ibragimov, and will beat Meehan. John Ruiz is a severely underrated fighter because of his mauling style...but please note, most of Ruiz's opponents had no problem taking breaks in the clinch and making it ugly too...like Holyfield, Rahman, Oquendo...

I thought it was a clear Chagaev win but Ruiz did look like a damn good fighter that night...did a lot of solid work against Chagaev but not enough clean punches for the nod, IMO. I think I had it 8-4 or 7-5...very good fight.

Compared to other regional clubfighters, maybe. As a world class fighter, he is a FRAUD, and a CHEATER. :yep

How did he cheat in the Tisdale fight in the posted Youtube link?

And once you admit that he didn't cheat, at all, what do you think of that performance? Be honest.
