He doesn't have to cheat against bums.:patsch You put him in with even a low-level contender and the excessive holding and/or low-blow fake jobs become ESSENTIAL elements of his "arsenal."

Why??? Because Ruiz has little or no LEGITIMATE boxing ability. In fact, in my 30 years of following this sport, I don't think I've seen a less talented fighter get ahold of a belt. :-(

No WONDER it took corruption and cheating to do it - couldn't have been done any other way!:deal

At least Ruiz won some of the fights he's known for, no matter the circumstances. Meehan is best known for a close loss. I don't trust a guy who makes his name off of a loss (cough cough Golota, Ruddock, V. Klitschko). Ruiz wins in bearded glory over Meehan.

I like Meehan, and he has went very far on a decent amount of talent and skill, but I think this new, Tysonesque Ruiz will be too much for Meehan.

The Quiet Tyson, or The Bearded Tyson, or better yet, Iron John Ruiz........Not sure which sounds the best, but regardless, Ruiz is back, and ON FIRE with this new trainer and aggressive style.

Have you ever seen a video of the Williams-Meehan fight? The results sound worse than the actual fight. Williams threw a perfect straight right hand that got Meehan right on the chin. It was just one of those things that sometimes happen in heavyweight fights. Remember Ruiz-Tua? Now who do think has had the more successful career, Tua or Ruiz? I'd say Ruiz by far.

Did you know that the great Jack Dempsey was KO'ed in one round by Fireman Jim Flynn when his was a up and coming fighter? I'd guess you didn't.

He didn't cheat against Valuev or Is he a low level contender to you?

Perhaps not - but he also LOST that fight. :yep Forced to face even mediocre world class fighters like Valuev within the rules, Ruiz loses every time - because he's even more mediocre than they are!!! :nod

I respect any top heavyweight but Ruiz' style can be very frustrating to watch. Ruiz also had VERY questionable wins against Golota and Oquendo, and he got beat by Jones. Actually, against Golota he should have gotten a draw at best. But I'd still bet on Ruiz to beat Meehan, but you never know.
