He would probably have trouble. Ruiz is a pain in the ass to fight. Hes adapted a style purely for survival, but hes somewhat quick with his jab and grab, thats it.
You mean right now?? It's a tossup. :nod As far as when Ali was active, he would embarass this glorified clubfighter, even the Ali from the Spinks fights.
john ruiz makes brave effort against ali. his country love him for trying. he is not club fighter zak. ________ Live sex webshows
Okay, how bout talentless palooka! Ruiz has all the skills of a high grade clubfighter, frankly. Without the cheating, he gets beat by even fringe contenders.
The right hand of Ruiz that got Jones' attention at the end of the first round of their fight would spell doom to the self proclaimed "greatest." Ruiz beat Rahman and a near peak Holyfield. Enough said
I chose Ruiz by kayo as a joke thinking it was prime Ali. My serious answer is Ruiz by close decision because Ali sucked by then.
Is this a serious thread? I think I'm missing something. I thought KOTF was complaining of Ali falling in stature or something. Then someone else thinks this is a current Ali vs Ruiz fight. Either way, I'm sticking by my bull**** answer. Ruiz by absurdity against a peak Ali, and Ruiz by ko against a current Ali.
I think it is a close fight and Ruiz is a lot better than he is given credit for anyway. Ali had slowed a lot by this time but he would still win. Ruiz cannot outwrestle Ali, nobody did. And he would need more than that sneaky right to get to Ali, who would lie back on the ropes and fight in the rope a dope style. Ali was all wrong for Ruiz, even at this stage of his career. In fact i think that the Ali that lost to Berbick beats Ruiz also. Possibly even by stoppage, but more likely by unanimous Decision. (and i am as close as it gets to a Ruiz fan)
You should rephrase the opening post - the "At this point..." makes it sound like Ali's coming to the ring in a wheelchair.
Forgive me. I thought this was a joke thread. Ali by decision. Ruiz doesn't have what it takes to outclass this Ali, and when did Ali not get the benefit of the doubt in a close decision?
