Based on what? The fact that in his last fight against a giant who has never been dropped he chose to move after breaking his right hand in the second round? That is your entire basis for him not going "balls out anymore"...one fight, where he broke his hand early and was fighting someone far far bigger with a granite chin.
It's an interesting challenge for Haye, that's for sure. And for the record, faking and clinching ARE ring smarts when it gets you the "V." It might not be exciting or admirable, but it's a strategy that many top boxers have employed to good effect.
Barrett was the same. You guys are missing the obvious issues here. Haye has fast hands but slow feet, and he is unbalanced a lot. Ruiz will exploit this. Haye will be the biggest of his career, being over muscled definitely affects punch output and stamina. This, accompanied by Ruiz's "Tactics" spell spoiler.
Ruiz is getting a bit of stick for his legendary spoiling tactics, but that's assuming he can get close enough to do so with Haye, which I doubt. Also, it should be noted that Ruiz didn't clinch at all for his last fight in Germany on the undercard. And actually looked a proper boxer with jabs. Anyway, Haye to KTFO ( knock the ****er out).
Haye will walk over Ruiz in 3-4 Rounds tops. Ruiz might be a kind of active but he's not a whirling dervish or a speed demon. He'll bum rush Haye a few times to no effect and after that he'll get timed and floored until he stays down.
I agree with you. Unless Ruiz has suddenly grown old, I see him mauling Haye and KOing him later in the fight. Haye seems ripe for the picking.
Sure,,, but only if he brings "Stoney" back... But seriously, imagine if Ruiz actually wins... what a fkn nightmare! Ruiz is like Jason (Fri 13th) ... You hope and pray he's finally gone, but he just keeps coming back, again and again. This is the head Haye should be cutting off... but I'll settle for a brutal, retirement inducing knockout.
This raises an interesting question, Haye is power, if he's broken his right hand will he go all Calzaghe and rely on moving and slapping in future?
I was right about the Valuev fight, same prediction here. Haye will win a disputed ugly decision again and probably make a bunch of excuses. Ruiz will cry "robbery" and could very well be right.
