Using illegal tactics like excessive holding and faking "low blows" to "win" fights you wouldn't be able to win within the rules is poor sportsmanship, to say the least. So is using connections with a powerful promoter to get multiple title shots you don't deserve.
yeah man but is like the wba wanted him to beat their champion and nobody else, it was bizarre how he kept getting chance after chance
Then that's the referee's fault for not enforcing the rules. Using a powerful promoter isn't anything new either.
I hope there's a chapter on the Tua fight, and maybe another with Stoney's great insights from the corner in the Jones fight.
I came into this thread hoping nobody would say this, so that I could implement this act of extreme wit. You win. this time
Although, to be fair.. there is no need to pay for it, you can just go on youtube and search for John Ruiz boxing and it'll help cure your insomnia.
You think the promoters' influence might just be the REASON refs turned a blind eye to Ruiz's BLATANT and REPEATED violations of the rules??atsch
