what do people think of this fight? is it too soon for Ryder? Personally I think if he boxes and doesn't get caught in a war then Ryder can come through on points.

I don't think he'll crumble like Buglioni and he's a durable guy, can't see Khomitski getting the nod and if Ryder looks good he puts himself right in the mix. Great fight, looking forward to it. Eubank to fight the winner would be brill.

Is this fight def going ahead?

If so I would see Khomitsky as too big too tough and a little bit better all round, even in middle age as he is.

Havent been overly impressed by the - admittedly very little - I've seen of Ryder.

I dont think you have assessed the fight properly there London! Well not IMO anyway.
Khomitsky isnt the type to get you "caught in a war" really is he?
He is more of a 'correct' boxer, who gradually grinds you down with quality, hard shots and his size and strength, not brawling attrition. This makes him a bigger threat to Ryder - who CAN cope with brawlers handily enough.(Witness how well he handled Eamonn McGee)

Khomitsky is sort of a slightly better version of a Martin-Murray-type fighter. IMO! :good

Easy win for Ryder. Khomitsky is overrated because he beat the limited Buglioni.

But not better than Murray mate, though I know you're not saying that. All the same,I don't think they'll pick this match for Ryder yet. As has been said,Khomitsky is bigger, and the step up too much at this stage.

    Easy win??

Khomitsky isn't overrated. He has his limitations and he isn't going to win world titles, but he's a solid fighter and at the level Ryder is currently at, this is a very very good & also difficult fight/test.

He's took Martin Murray the distance twice, just went 10 rounds with Stieglitz & as you've mentioned took Buglioni's '0' - this is no easy fight.

Unless old age catches up to him, its Khomitsky for me.

Me too. I like John but I don't see how he's prepared for this.

Ryder is far more solid and defensively sound than the wise guy.

surprised with the amount of people siding with Khomitsky on this. John is a solid fighter, great defensive skills and can bang. Khomitsky was flattered a little by buglioni and steglitz battered him. I think John Ryder is going to show a few people how good he is in this fight. And it is definitely happening, there was a press conference for it the other day, October 11th at the O2 Arena in London
