Stieglitz is fighting at world level, Ryder has been fighting at domestic level. Therefore, it is a very good and tough fight for Ryder at this stage.
Khomitskys performances versus the likes of Buglioni, Steiglitz, Murray..to name just 3 recent opponents....far above anything Ryder has done ( yet anyway). That's all were saying here. It IS a step up for Ryder. Not saying he can't win, but I personally do think he loses this one.
As I've mentioned in this thread, I rate this fight for Ryder as a very good & difficult test. I was at the Excel arena when Khomitsky for Murray on the Purdy/Bundu undercard. But for you lot who think he's going to come up short, what's your reasons? Ryder has impressed me each time he's fought. He gave BJS (who many think will end up winning a world title) a good run for his money, I've seen a good few posts on here of people that would back BJS to beat Quillin. If I remember rightly, he was also the underdog vs O'Kane (not comparing O'Kane to Khomitsky here - as the contrast in levels of opponents they've fought is there to see) but my point is that he's shown when he does have to put a performance in he does.
I must take another look at Ryder. Maybe I'm not being fair to the guy. I did see him versus o Kane and BJS. It's just that for some reason he just was 'unconvincing' to me. He seems 'ok'in most areas but he just seems to fall a bit short of being anything more than ok for me. He seems to lack that little bit extra...call it star quality, I dunno... As I say I'll take another look...
wasnt the underdog for o kane 4/7 if remember correctly. but other than that agree with this post. Its a classic potential v experience fight and great matchmaking.Iv been dissappointed ryan has not been out in a proper fight since the bjs fight but this sure makes up for it. Il be at the fight and expect ryder to come through in a *******.
Khomitsky was bumped against Steiglitz. Not saying he would have won a decision (Germany) but he gave Steiglitz all sorts of problems and the powers to be didn't even give him the chance to see the cards. The ref should have just demanded tape from Steiglitz cornor to let the fight continue as it was the fans that get short changed aswell. Who would want to win like that?
Ryder seems confident of a routine victory in this fight. Says its a fight he should be winning if he wants to move on to world level http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GDZ0R48e6E&list=UUdl_gZZR6BtKi45eHFGAduw
Ryder should win this, in my opinion he beat BJS (think I had it one point in his favour). Not sure why he is so underrated by some on here, I think he's a fighter who's going to improve a bit more yet.
Anyone know if this is still on, suddently disappeared on boxrec Ryder now up against the often under-estimated TBA
