With respect I think I can read a fight better than yourself Len, even Ryder's promoter had Jack winning, so maybe just maybe your wrong

You know Billy just because someone is a top trainer doesn't atomatically mean they are always great at reading fights.. Just look at Joe Gallagher.
Did Ryder's promoter actually say "arnfield won the fight" in so many words Billy?
I find that hard to believe. If he did Ryder needs a new promoter....and you need to go to spec savers....:)
No offence meant though.....keep up the good work.

For what's worth, I thought Ryder outclassed his opponent last night; I did not score the fight but I was incredulous with the final scores

Most people had Ryder winning Billy. Long term I don't think it will affect either of their careers too dramatically as they're operating at a regional level IMHO. Neither have a chance against any of the top middleweights in the UK at the minute.

2 years ago or so Ryder was being touted as a top prospect. Its a sad sign of how support for him has faded away as people realised they had jumped the gun in overrating how far he would go.
But anyway, I was never making a point about how 'good' or ' bad' Ryder or Arnfield are.
I was complaining about a wrong decision - which concerns us all, and should be an issue of concern regardless of the 'level' of the boxers.

I actually had Ryder with the win I just felt he had more punches which landed and depending where the judges were sat should of been scoring. I had Ryder by 3 rounds.

I agree, I've said I thought he deserved to get the nod. I was just adding that I don't think this poor decision will particularly hold him back or propel his opponent onto bigger and better things.

I'm more concerned about the state of refereeing in the UK. Is O'Connor really the best man to be officiating these big fights on our shores? I think his performance last Saturday was absolutely dreadful.

I watched it as I was messing about with the in-play paddy power app. By round 10, it was 10/1 for Arnfield to win, so clearly they believed what most on here did too, that Ryder was more than 2 rounds ahead. Wished I'd put a few quid on now

I thought Ryder won, I thought he did enough and the 118-110 scorecard for Arnfield was just ridiculous.

Ryder was so disappointing, it was a televised fight on Sky against an opponent he should be beating (no disrespect to Arnfield) and an opportunity for him to shine and once again he didn't.

I can't see where Ryder goes from here, it's a long way back after that performance.

We should start a thread about it Sugar - it warrants it.
Very obvious ALL parties were always going to be pushing for the rematch - Eddie & both fighter camps.

Whatever about selling a rematch to the ever-gullible British public if the first fight is decided by decision - there is NO CHANCE if it ends by decisive early ko. Which is why I STRONGLY suspect Eddie had a word in Terrys the refs ear that at all costs it was not to end in a ko. Hence Terrys meddling to disrupt Linares when it looked like a Linares stoppage might be on the cards.
    No one is that incompetant.
There is no 'innocent' explanation I can think of to legitimise O'Connors interfering in the fight other than to disrupt Linares and foil a rematch-clobbering stoppage.

118-110 = 10-2 in rounds (correct me if im wrong lads) That totally did NOT HAPPEN.
Very wrong judging - I suspect Eddie has realised Ryder aint the prospect he thought he was - poor John Ryder just doesnt excite, does he? And so Eddie is trying to jettison him - shafting him this way is his of doing it IMO. Very fishy goings on. Very suspect.

Agree those scorecards are ridiculous, however the outcome of the fight was not. Ryder is frustrating to watch, you can see he talents there.

The saddest thing is I'm not even sure Eddie needs to have a word with him to get him to carry on like that. His influence is now such that incompetent yes men will be doing as much as they can to please him to ensure they keep getting to be involved in the 'big' events.

O'Connor has been a biased/incompetent referee for a long time.
