Steven Bell is just a Frank Warren stooge, who has wasted his career.

Simpson easily in that one :good

I think if Simpson could make the weight without any ill effects then he would decision Munroe.

Munroe is absolutely huge at the weight, that's his main strength. He likes to sap guys energy and wear them down by leaning on them and pushing on them against the ropes, kind of like a Super-Bantamweight Matt Skelton.

Simpson however coming down from Featherweight shouldn't have a problem with the size and I think he's a more skillful boxer, I could see him outboxing Munroe and winning a 116-112 type decision.

John could be a very dominant European champion if he could make Super-Bantamweight without being drained too much.

Bell is actually one of the most talented fighters in the UK at any weight. But your right his career has been managed in such a poor fashion its been largely wasted. If anyone should leave Sports Network and go to Hatton its that guy. Not sure of his circumstances though- maybe he's happy that way.

He has written a few pieces in Boxing Monthly about various things, and in each of them he constantly goes on about how amazing Warren is, it's cringeworthy.

In one of them he said that Billy Graham did him no favours, and that he is adamant that he and Paul Smith made the right call in sticking with SN and leaving the gym.

Warren has done what for them exactly?

Smith has probably the most padded record in British boxing, and Bell is nearly 35 and has beaten hardly anybody of note.

I totally agree with your post yesterday, regarding the promotion of fighters, giving them recognisable faces etc, rather than just the usual 'Fighter A will appear in an eight round international fight on the undercard of Khan vs A. Featherfist'

Yep.... fighters need identities. US boxing has embraced this idea and now we get 24/7 programs which just happen to be shot superbly but in the UK the budget doesn't seem to strch to a quick triper to a fighters home to see how he lives etc.

Look at X factor- the decent singers get a bit of a back story and suddenly they get a following. People identify with stuff like that. This is a promoters job and should not be down to the fans to suggest these kind of things. I loved boxing in the 90's because I read every little tiny piece of info about everyone..... If Derek Roche was fighting Micheal Carruth I cared because I knew all about both fighters. It seeems now there is a lot less 'promoting' going on and a lot more complaining....

Munroe is the smartest British based boxer ... he has several gameplans and executes them to perfection at times aka both Martinez fights .... Simpson would run out of ideas and fade down the track ... Munroe a UD !

When munroe lost to andy morris albeit it a very close fight and at FW not SBW he didnt look to have several gameplans. You cant say as munroe lost to morris and john destroy morris the same would happen but i just think John would have too much for munroe he would wear him down witht hose cracking body shots and take control the latter part of the fight IMO.
