I've got Tate on points in this one. Thoughts?

At his best, Page on points, or late round stoppage. If not, Tate UD.

Tate’s prime was too short and limited while Greg Page was too inconsistent for me to comfortably pick either over the other. Not sure who wins

tate. 15 round decision. probably not all that close on the scorecards.

Would have been an interesting fight in 1980. The Tate camp did not want Weaver and this bout was not going to be made between Arum and DKP. Dokes back then, when he was lighter, would have been another nice cross promotion match at the time. And Tate had that amatuer ko of Dokes going for him as well.

Actually what Tate needed was a soft matchup---like Holmes was taking. Maybe Neon Leon or a Ledoux or a light heavy moving up. We will never see an american heavy being a road warrior in 2 consecutive bouts in front of 140000 fans again. Rarely happens even once
