I'd say no. Coetzee heavily improved after his match with Tate, especially once he started working with Jackie McCoy. Great use of the left, more measured punches, his whole toolbox was improved by the time that he went into the Dokes fight- And it showed by how he dominated Michael. He was good against Spinks, Tate, Weaver, and Snipes, but hit his stride when demolishing Dokes. Still will be a tough fight, without a doubt, but Coetzee would likely emerge victorious before the sound of the final bell.
Never been really impressed by Coetzee. Decent power. Light feet. Athletic. Not very quick. Not super varied. Not very durable. Kinda meh.
I remember seeing all the big Coetzee fights when they happened. I didn't think he ever really improved much past Tate; I mean, Dokes wasn't exactly anything to write home about imo. He gave Weaver an entertaining fight but ultimately got squashed, just like he did against the similarly mediocre Page. Just my opinion.
