Mugabi would a force to be reckoned with .

He would hold titles from 154-168 .

Many fighters today would want nothing to do with him .

I can easily see Carl Froch calling him out and having the balls to fight him .

Unfortunately for Froch , hes get destroyed .

Hopkins would have NOT beat him like Hagler did .

Todays version of B hop cant hurt Mugabi and no way in hell is stopping him .

I pretty much doubt even Bernard at his best can stop Mugabi .

I can see Bernard narrowly outpointing him in a controversial fight where there can be arguements made for either fighter winning .

B hop does not have the chin , endurance and punching power to repeat what Hagler did .

So would Rocky Mattioli and Mustfa "The Buzzsaw" Hamsho!!!

Today....Hopkins enjoys fighting intimidated fighters who allow Hopkins to win ughly and boring fights.

These "Old School" fighters would walk right through Hopkins!!!

Mugabi could hold belts at 154 and 160 but Ward would take him apart at 168.

Honestly , I don't even think Ward can survive 12 rounds with Mugabi .

John Mugabi was a Dangerous sprinter, I do not recall him doing anything too earth-shaking at Middleweight, The Hagler fight was a good effort, but he never really built on that, i rekon a good solid pro like Kevin Finnegan would have drawn his sting then punished him late, Mugabi could be more Intermittant spectacular - But Finnegan could be more Long-Haul effective. I suspect quite a few Middles would of had Mugabi's Number.

Carl Froch - John Mugabi could potentially be a war .

    For about 3 rounds though...

    Hagler/Hearns all over again....

It would be a good fight but I think Ward at 168 is too strong for Mugabi. Ward would stay in the pocket with Mugabi and force an inside fight, at which he is one of the best I have seen. Hearns against Mugabi at 154 also would have been a helluva fight.

Anybody we can remember the name of would likely be a multi-division champ in this day and age. Almost any given division is now 2 or 3 divisions because thinned talent pool = cash.

    Example: Welter is now 140, 147, and 154. Middle is now 154 + a fraction of a gramme, 160 and 168, etc.

    Sure he would.:lol::lol::lol:

Oh wait; I keep forgetting, boxing is the only sport where they get worse over time. Imagine twenty years in the future, Mugabi would be champ from 154 to HW.
