What are your thoughts on John Ruiz? Do you think IF HE WOULD RETIRE TODAY THAT he is a hall of famer?

A HOF doesn't lose his belt to a light heavy weight .

He'll get in the hall of fame for his ethnicity. That is it.
Maybe for being the most gentle boxer too, I have never seen a boxer be so liberal with prolonged hugs.
    His opponents must love him.

People who achieved less than Ruiz has have got in, but I doubt it.

If he beats Haye he should get in though.

I'm not sure if losing to 2 blown up middleweights qualifies you to get into the HOF as a heavyweight. I think that might actually hurt your chances.

Based on his record and the above, yes. His style creates a bad taste for the fan. I would not watch him fight unless it was against David Haye or someone who has knockout power.

If it was up to me, NO. But the fact he was the first latino could EASILY put him there. Plus, I have to admit, he style is ugly as hell but he gave a lot of fighters a hard night

The Quiet Man,...that has got to be some kind of ironic name for one of the biggest whinners in the HW division. No way to the Hall of Fame. That man doesn't deserve it. You put him in there, than you got to let everyone who ever held one of the belts in. Damani, Morrison, Maskaev, Rahman...that would be sad if they let him in. I mean, damn, the man lost to Toney, who high on Maui Wowie at the time.
