Banks beat the tough Vincenzo Rossitto (36-5-2) for the vacant IBO title in Germany yesterday.

Having now seen the fight, I thought Banks looked great early, he just seemed to press for the KO too much and showed Rossitto too little respect. The Italian won some of the later rounds but it was too little too late.

Banks moves to 20-0 and looks poised to take on the highly touted Alexeev.

I seen the fight, it was live here in the UK and it was an absolute stinker.

Banks is slower than dirt and awful to watch.

Banks to get KOed bigtime around the 5th round vs Alexeev - he just have a weak chin/average defense and poor stamina...

What are we basing the chin comments on?

I agree his stamina was poor but he didn't have a full camp for this fight.

There was nothing to get excited about with this guy. Wasn't particularly quick, or powerful, easy enough to tag, stamina poor at best. I thought he was going to be a lot better than that, and in the end the fight was pretty close despite him being obviously better than his opponent.

Alexeev will do something bad to him.

Banks is a total bum. No speed, no stamina and no talent and got very lucky with the verdict.

He looked hurt once in the latter rounds, though he came back immediatly to get of some meaningful punches. Still Rossitto is a featherfisted cruiserweight like Fragomeni.

Another thing worth noting was how he struggled with the southpaw, when you think about Alexeev. He looked like he'd never seen one in his life, I don't know who they sparred with, or what the hell happened there. Classic mistakes.

I don't recall him being hurt at all, and Rossitto is hardly feather fisted (22KO's in 36 wins).

Still, I was underwhelmed by his performance last night. He's looked better in the past, I'll chalk it up to him having only half a camp to work with.

I agree, the southpaw factor may have been what threw Banks off. It's one big advantage that Alexeev would have in their fight.

Axe you should be realistic - Banks is a KO waiting to happen.

He's a skilled boxer but vs. a guy like Alexeev he bites the dust, definately...

Where do you see a lack of realism? I am making Banks an underdog against Alexeev.

Banks has shown vulnerability in some of his fights, but his competition in the pros, which is also a factor, blows Alexeev's out of the water, imo.
