After a spectacular KO victory, Jonny Fisher is back in the gym today after a weekends drinking with his old man and half a kilo of Kung Pao prawns. What's next for Eddie's latest prodigy 'the Romford Bull?' How far can he go?
He’s been put in the limelight too early for someone lacking his experience. The demand for him to step up will come too soon and he will lose once he does so.
Hard to say with conviction as he is a total novice. I just have a gut feeling he will go far. He seems a grafter, has brains to make adjustments and is quite fleet footed for such a big lump.
He's with Sam Jones who seems to be Hearn's next bezzie so we have to sit through all Jones' fighters getting a runout on Matchroom cards.
I wonder whether Hearn is looking at Jones to do more promotional work. With MR/Dazn expanding very quickly to several countries - I even saw they announced Australia yesterday - I wonder whether he's looking for someone to help lighten the load. I don't think Frank Smith is interesting/charismatic enough. Jones is pretty annoying but he's a far better talker so perhaps Hearn has earmarked him for that sort of role.
Most definitely has the potential and people around him to be involved competitively at European level. Both him and Fabio are real novices who are getting big show exposure early on and must be given time to learn their trade and mess up a bit. A few years ago, we wouldn’t even have heard of them yet. What I’ve seen, I’d put my money on Fisher going further than Wardley. Both nice guys.
He's doing what Dave Allen was doing at this level. He's probably better than Dave Allen but it's hard to tell without being biased because of his opponents. He's supposedly a good sparring partner but so was Dave Allen who was bragged about often in sparring tales. He's only 3 fights in and he has a lot of time to learn. If he gets the right opponents at the right time and steps up accordingly i think he can be european level at least. If he's given an acid test too early on i think it could mentally break him. Hearn can build him up and get him a good domestic fight eventually.
Completely agree with this. If Hearn wants to sign them early and give them exposure then fair enough but do it on the 6pm slots. The likes of Wardley, Fisher etc shouldn’t be in the prime time slots at all.
He looks alot better than David Adeleye who was beating soundly by Sokolowski. I think he makes it to British level, but that is only based on seeing him beating up on complete journeymen. We have no idea whether he has what it takes to reach the British title level which then will move him to fighting for the European title. You have to go on gut instinct at this stage to rate what his ceiling is and what he can achieve.
I’ve noticed he’s getting a decent bit of attention with his old man and younger brother being characters on social media. It’s probably a good thing for him though, I think the comparisons to David Allen could end up being fair but he didn’t do badly for someone with limited ability did he? As others have said, you can’t judge too much on him beating up absolute journeymen.
A plus sized Babic. Needs to take some Ivan Drago vocal classes from the Savage to round off his skills.
