Another all British fight robbed by Saudi. This would have sold well and the atmosphere would have been electric. Instead it's the opener for Fury v Usyk 2 and will probably take place in a near empty arena.
Terrible fight anyway. Allen was going along nicely after the Yoka fight. Lost to Price no disgrace there but since then he's been a part timer. Could have given Clarke something to think about instead came in like a tub of lard and complained every 2nd minute.
David Allen is a genuinely terrible boxer. He is a big guy who seems to be strong and is able to take a punch. He doesn't have much else. Just a brawler. Fisher actually has some skills, so the comparisons of Fisher as the new gimmick guy is unfair. He doesn't come across like a plonker, either. He seems like a very decent guy who isn't stupid. Allen is a covert egomaniac.
I agree it's a terrible fight but it should be on in the UK. This comedy match up is completely wasted as an opener at the empty Kingdom arena.
Dave Allen does not belong in a boxing ring, and at this stage of Fisher's career he needs a bigger test than this. I think Allen folds like a cheap deckchair here in under 3 rounds. Fisher will destroy him, which does not help him develop when he finally faces someone who is not there to lose and can punch back
Allen and his mythical hardest chin in the World. Zhang, prime Wilder, prime AJ, later version of Fury, Dubois, prime Joyce would have all knocked him out, to name a few, Price would have probably put him to sleep if it carried on, he left on a stretcher FFS.
Fisher will batter Allen, too big and strong with a decent reach. Allen is a decent bloke his YouTube channel is good, you get a good honest description of the boxing world, Johnny Fisher seems like a nice bloke too.
But you'd rather this comedy match up headline the Copper box? It's a genuine nothing fight Boxing had years to sort itself out but refused to What exactly are you gatekeeing here?
If Allen can land that same shot he folded Nick Webb with them this fight could get interesting. That was way back in 2018 though. I do believe fisher is there for the taking as he’s hardly fought anyone with a pulse. Adeleye beats him right now imo
For all his career underachievements, big David Price single-handedly stopping Allen from becoming a PPV headliner more than makes up for it.
