After hitting the deck against Dave Allen, Fisher's ability to take a punch HAS to be questioned. That mandible may not be confirmed glass - yet - but it is clearly suspect!
I don’t think it’s glass after he initially went down he ate a lot of bombs and didn’t go down again. It’s not granite but it’s not glass. I think his chin is 6/10. He got tons of heart though. Sometimes he was a bit too basic. Also he did punch himself out early. He should have paced himself more early fight behind the one-two. I think he did go in hard like that because of nerves and intimidation. Didn’t keep his cool. Definitely a learning moment for him. Very entertaining fight.
Fisher is a good fighter, he has a variety of punches and is quite strong, but he is not world class, I would put him roughly on the same level as David Adeleye, Frazer Clarke, etc.
He's a domestic level fighter at best, not a bad thing at all, he can be in some decent scraps over the next few years and get some decent pay days but he isn't and won't ever be world level or even euro level. no shame in that. I think he knows that too. His chin is fine though. I'd describe it as average.
He's like George Chuvalo compared to Wilder!! You didn't see Johnny Fisher hitting the deck against the likes of Dustin Nichols and Harold Sconiers!
Nah he ate tons of flush shots repeatedly in quick succession Also, he suffered some kind of damage to his ear which may have affected his equilibrium and I even thought at the time that could be the case without knowing that
I think both those guys slaughter him. Dave Allen is semi-retired and was never very good. In fact, didn't Clarke make easy work of Allen while Fisher just went life and death with him? Fisher's pretty entertaining, but not even on the level of domestic contenders like Adeleye and Clarke.
I think it's more that he is probably at Dave Allen's level at best. David Price is laughed at on here as he literally couldn't take a punch but his offense was so much better than both Fisher and Allen.
Allen was throwing tired swings at Fisher they both gassed really fast, Fisher has questionable defense and stamina not punch resistance, it was a really poor performance against a flabby out of shape opponent.
He looked really compromised after that KD. Don't think he ever fully recovered despite taking many more bombs after. Not sure it is a chin issue. Definitely doesn't lack heart though
